Viognier
Dry Creek Valley, Certified Organic
2007

The Wine
This idiosyncratic white joins our family of organically-certified wines. It's delicate in the nose wiht scents of jasmine and white pepper, yet it's exotic, creamy and full in the mouth suggesting lichee and dried apricot. Sip it on your terrace while dreaming of that farm in Aix en Provence.

The Vines
We grow two blocks on different soil profiles, but there is a common thread of creek-bank location and stress-inducing sandy, gravelly soils. The vines are shy producers with a small count of tiny bunches. We introduced Viognier to our property in 1990.

Thought for Food
Would you take Viognier camping? Well, think of pan-fried corn meal-dredged mountain trout. Wild onion. Forest floor mushrooms. Miners lettuce. Stream-chilled Viognier.
